The Worst Way to Believe in Yourself
The Worst Way to Believe in Yourself
You probably started hearing about self-belief and confidence during school or from your parents. Unfortunately, the correct way to believe in yourself is rarely taught. The good news is today you will get a sense of enlightenment. After this article you will see all the subtle subconscious impurities that has made its way into your way of thinking. The most important part is you can fix this and make confidence a part of your daily life.
1. Your Self-Belief is Limited By Other People
This is where your subconscious mind comes in. You have been taught two sides of confidence your whole life. One side is how to be confident, and the other side is don't be too confident. A lot of this is done indirectly. You may of been told you can become and do anything you want in life, and then later be told, "Well, maybe not that." All these tiny lessons puts a small, subconscious leash on how much you are willing to believe in yourself. An important skill to develop is to recognize when this "leash" is starting to tug at you. The trick is to decide who you are. You are whoever you believe you are, and it's dangerous to allow other people's opinions to define your personality. You have unlimited potential on who you can become, it just takes some planning and practice.
2. You're Not Visualizing Confident and Positive Scenarios
You possess a hidden superpower that you can tap into at any time. It's probably something you have been yelled at for doing too much of. Ready for it? It's called daydreaming. It is something everyone does, so it may as well be done correctly. Human brains don't know the difference between daydreaming and real memories. Your brain chemicals are released during real life experiences and daydreaming. If you are thinking about humiliating and scary scenarios, your brain will believe that it is actually happening. Daydreaming is something that should be taken seriously and done purposely. Try to practice imaging yourself at your happiest, most successful potential. Try to think of scenarios going right, where you are the winner, you are the one smiling with victory. Your brain will think this is really happening and will start the process of physically rewiring your brain. If you trained yourself to imagine negative situations, you can retrain yourself to imagine positive situations. As you think of positive situations, your brain will began looking for positive situations and beneficial opportunities in real life. Visualization makes your subconscious mind work in your favor.3. You're Not in a Positive Environment
You may not be in the best environment for you. If your environment is consistently negative and stressful, then it's not bringing out your full potential. You may not even remember what a happy, confident version of yourself looks like. If you cannot physically leave your environment, then it is your responsibility to create a positive environment on the inside. A simple way to do this is by reading self-help articles or books. Also watching uplifting videos on YouTube can be a big source of inspiration, and a huge confidence booster. Your life will reflect positively from the inside-out. I explain this in my video Life's a Mirror, Reflect Wisely.
